Ancestors Revenge is a destructive blackened death metal band from Quebec. Since 2008 these guys have been pumping out some extremely powerful metal riffage. With quite a few melodic elements incorporated into their sound they do justice to one of my favorite scenes in the world. Their music has a punishing death metal energy to it that is tempered with a black metal grimness that allows for a very whole and well rounded album. Their music is very aggressive and it really allows the riffs to shine through in their brutal best. The song The Rash that Spread is a great example of this. Yet the melodic and black metal elements help to ensure that they don't descend into boring moshcore. In conclusion, this band is dark and majestic, something any death or black metaller should enjoy.
